BEF Grants A Boost For Cascade

Escorted by a school band, Bethel Education Foundation representatives marched into some Cascade classrooms and surprised staff members with a total of $1,000 in mini-grants.

The BEF presented a $250 mini-grant to 8th grade teacher Holly Hernandez to help cover the cost of a student field trip to OSU’s Wave Research Lab.

And another $250 mini-grant was handed to a surprised Don Provo, who intends to replace and rebuild classroom sets of young adult novels for the 6th grade reading program.

A $500 award was given to 6th grade teacher Jennifer Martin ( not pictured) so Cascade can start a school garden, including fencing, tools, raised beds, soil, plants, and educational materials.

The Bethel Education Foundation was founded by some active Bethel parents last August and has been raising money for dozens of Bethel school projects. Go to the BEF website for more information…and YES, they will gladly accept your donation toward future mini-grants.(2.10.10)
